La Catrina...

April 27th 2016

Sharing a Karleigh Sue DT creation using the "La Catrina" image available at the "new" website Cheri has set up: CLICK HERE. You can find all the digis for purchase plus the new Mary Jane series - they are great you must check them out!

I'm not good at doing CAS as I always want to add things but tried to keep this relatively minimalistic by not adding too much LOL. Image printed on kraft coloured paper and fussy cut - I just coloured it basically with colour pencils. Background was the same image copied and pasted and a border added and then printed on white card. Added a scrap of muslin and a charm with some string to finish off.

More inspiration from the DT can be found at the Karleigh Sue Blog plus colouring fun at the Facebook Group.

Hocus Pocus........

April 11th 2016

What a FUN and FABULOUS new image I have to share today for Sandra Caldwell "#417 Winifred the Witch" - based on the movie character from "Hocus Pocus" - as soon as I saw this image I just had to have her to colour and create with!

I wanted to work in my large journal with this image so she's about 5 inches tall. She has been coloured with pastel pencils and I am really happy with how she turned out!

Journal page background was gessoed to prevent any seepage to the other side - I used lots of muslin cloth adhered with matte medium plus some old book pages which sort of got covered up with the Lindy's Stamp Gang ink sprays LOL! I used lots of the shimmery coloured sprays for added effect to all the texture!!!

The witches boot, bats and lettering were cut from Silhouette files on my Cameo. Little potion bottles are from a collage sheet available from the Etsy Store "Phenomenon 1859".

Adore this Image......

April 10th 2016

New release time for this month at SLS Lines!!! Always love to see what Sal draws up for everyone to create with. New images available in store now!! Here's a direct link to this image "Pretty Lady with Flowers" click here.

I've coloured the image with copics and colour pencils and the blue background is chalks. Of course she has been fussy cut LOL! Background of my journal page is a torn up patterned serviette - I just love the flowers - a great match for the image. I added some muslin cloth, a Tim Holtz "adore" ticket, paper flower and a bee charm and the large birds on a branch charm to finish it all off.

11th Anniversary Party continues........

April 8th 2016

My second post for the 11th Anniversary Celebration at JessicaLynnOriginal! My post last weekend showcased a couple of Jessica's "Jasmine Becket-Griffith" licensed stamp designs - just love all the range available so far - more new ones to come so stay tuned! Today I am sharing 2 more altered index cards this time using 2 of my favourites sets from the Dog Breed range available at the store - I'm a big dog lover so it's always fun to receive these from Jessica and colour and create. The Pitt Bull and Toy Breed sets are 2 of my favs!!!

Here are my altered index cards and below a couple of other process pics and run through of what I did to create these!

A quick description of how I did the backgrounds: I put "dollops" of acrylic paint - nothing fancy just what I have in the cupboard!! Grabed an old credit card and "swiped" it around to cover the card - try to keep the colours from mixing too much and turning muddy looking! I wanted some brightness for the "party" theme.

Secondly I spread matt medium all over the card and then I used some Tim Holtz printed tissue paper and layered over the top and smoothed out. You could use white tissue paper, stamp in black ink and make your own patterned paper but remember ordinary tissue paper is thinner and will tear easily when wet so once on the matt medium you really wont have the ability to move it much - but that can add texture if it crinkles - I like that effect too!

So that was my 2 base cards to add to - which included footprint stencil I made on my Silhouette and texture paste which I then ink sprayed - I did this on both cards for some added texture in the background.

I also added bits of washi tape on the cards too for the pups to "sit/stand" on LOL! Wording is computer generate. I coloured all the dog stamps with pastel pencils and sprayed with sealant before fussy cutting them. Little party hats are from a Lisa's Altered Art collage sheet and are so much fun to add to stamps like this!!

Don't forget the Free Brentwood Owl digi available at the store for a limited time in celebration of this milestone for Jessica and her Business! And if you are on Facebook come and join our crafty JLO Group!
